India can’t be taken for granted
11/11/2022 11:04:05 PM
Recently Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that India doesn’t believe in a world order where a few countries are considered superior to others.
After Narendra Modi took over the reins of the country in 2014 he sent a clear message to the world that India cannot be taken for granted.
He rewrote the foreign policy and informed the world that no one would be allowed to even look towards India. Surgical strikes and Balakot air strikes were a clear message to the terrorists sitting on the other side of the Line of Control that if they keep on meddling with India, Army would cross the LoC and hit them hard within their dens.
Prime Minister Modi kept up his word that talks and terror cannot go together. He made it clear to Pakistan and the world that J&K is an integral part of India and no power on earth can snatch it.
Besides tackling the terrorists and Pakistan, PM Modi led dispensation has neutralized the threat which was posed by China in the Eastern Ladakh sector along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
India’s policy has been clear that whenever it partners any nation, it is on the basis of sovereign equality and mutual respect. Forging relations come naturally to India, as the country works towards mutual economic development.
India has always maintained that it stands for peace but its desire for peace shouldn’t be misconstrued as its weakness.
The Defence Minister’s statement that India doesn’t believe in a world order where a few countries are considered superior to others has driven home a point that it respects the sovereignty of every country. But that doesn’t mean that it would tolerate any expansionist designs of any nation. India’s policy is clear that we respect your sovereignty and integrity and you have to respect our boundaries.
The time has changed and so has the world order. The mutual confidence and trust are important factors on which the world has to run but a few countries like Pakistan haven’t understood to co-exist. If the neighboring country refuses to mend its ways then India won’t be left with any other option other than proving its strength and destroying the terror infrastructure by crossing the LoC.
