Jammu, Nov 11: A book release function was organized by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS), Jammu at K L Saigal Auditorium Hall, Writers Club, Cultural Academy, Jammu today to release a Punjabi poetry collection ‘Ret Te Pairhan’ written by well known Punjabi fiction writer & poet Bhupinder Singh Raina of Jammu & Kashmir. Dr. (Prof.) Baljit Kour, HoD, Deptt. of Punjabi, University of Jammu was the chief guest whereas Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages presided over the function. S. Bhupinder Singh Raina, Dr. Monojit Singh President PLS-J, Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabiand Dr. Baljit Raina, General Secretary PLS-J shared the dais. A large number of intellectuals and writers attended the programme. The programme started with the formal welcome by Dr. Monojit, President PLS-J. A paper on the merits and critical evaluation of the poetry of Bhupinder Singh Raina included in the book was presented by Rajvir Singh, research scholar of Deptt. of Punjabi, University of Jammu. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn complimented Bhupinder Singh Raina for his thoughtful views expressed through his poetry. He said that a good poetry makes its own way into the minds of the readers/ listeners. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Baljit Kour appreciated the poetical work contributed by S. Bhupinder Singh Raina. She said that Raina’s creative writings are read throughout the world and added that it’s heartening that his works are being researched by the research scholars. She also appreciated the contribution of the research scholars for contributing in the field of literary criticism of the Punjabi literature being created in Jammu & Kashmir. S. Ajit Singh Mastana, well known Punjabi Ghazal writer from Kashmir, Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi, S. Harjit Singh Uppal,Dr. Javaid Rahi and Bhupinder Singh Raina also expressed their views on this occasion. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina, General Secretary, PLS, J. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Raina. |
