Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 21- Prof. Virender Gupta, President JSM (P) and candidate for the Jammu West constituency criticized the role of national and Kashmir based parties and said that these parties have always made false promises with the people of Jammu to lure them for votes during all the previous elections. He was addressing media persons here today.

He also condemned those candidates including independents and those of national and regional parties engaged in luring the voters by money and liquor, thereby socially deteriorating the new generation, in particular and setting wrong precedents. He appealed to the people not to come under the influence of such corrupt practices. He asked the people to vote for change that can bring neat and clean politics at their doorstep. He lamented that there has been a vacuum in the Jammu leadership after Pt. Prem Nath Dogra.

He alleged that both Congress and BJP have failed to provide effective leadership to Jammu Province that led to Jammu suffering. People must give chance to those who are honest, dedicated and sincere for Jammu cause and are capable to provide a dynamic and vibrant leadership. He also clarified the party’s stand on communities like the Kashmiri Pandits in the proposed Jammu state and asserted that all communities living in the Jammu region shall form an essential part of the said state. He appealed to all to ignore any rumors that are being spread by rivals to mislead the people in this crucial hour.

Prof. Gupta also criticized the statement of BJP leader Arun Jaitley undermining the role of Jammu State Morcha (P) and the Jammu statehood movement. He said that JSM (P) is pursuing the same policies and programs as were pursued by Jammu State Morcha that was founded in 2002.
