Rain, snowfall expected in J&K | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Nov 19: A western disturbance will likely bring isolated or scattered light to moderate rainfall snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir in next 24 hours , officials said. The Meteorological (MeT) department this morning said that light to moderate rain was expected on Saturday in plains and snowfall at scattered places over higher reaches . Currently, weather is generally cloudy at most places of J&K with light rain at some places of Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. The MeT said the weather would be cloudy at most of the places in J&K on Sunday. “There is no forecast of any major snow spell till the end of November,” the MeT said. While Kashmir is in the grip of cold, the night temperature continues to remain below freezing point in tourist resorts of Gulmarg and Pahalgam. The ski resort of Gulmarg in Baramulla district recorded a low of minus 1.5 degrees. Pahalgam in Anantnag district recorded the night temperature at minus 1.3 degrees Celsius. Banihal in Jammu region recorded 3.8 degrees Celsius and was the coldest MET station in Jammu this morning. In Ladakh, the minimum temperature in Drass was minus 7.1 degrees Celsius. |
