Div Com, ADGP review arrangements for Republic Day 2023

JAMMU, Nov 22: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar along with Additional Director General of Police, Mukesh Singh today reviewed the preparations for Republic Day celebration 2023 here at a meeting of Heads of different Departments.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, SSP Jammu, SSP Security Jammu, besides senior officers of Police, Army, CRPF, BSF, SSB, Traffic, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, PWD, JMC, Health Services, Information, Education, Cultural Academy, Youth Services and Sports, Hospitality and Protocol, JKRTC and other concerned departments.
The Div com discussed in detail the arrangements required to be put in place for smooth conduct of the National event. He stressed on maintaining close synergy among the stakeholder departments for timely arrangements and conduct of the Republic Day.
Threadbare discussions were held on selection of contingents, cultural Items, Transportation, sanitation, cleanliness, face lifting of venue, decoration of stage, seating arrangements.
The Divisional Commissioner exhorted all concerned officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for smooth and successful celebration of the Republic Day.
The Div Com asked Director School Education and Secretary J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages to furnish the lists of participating student contingents and cultural items, while BSF, Army, Police were also told to share the lists of contingents.
The Div Com asked the Director School Education and J&K Cultural Academy to finalise cultural items and start rehearsal at the earliest.
A representative of JMC was told to ensure sanitation, water tanker facilities, and mobile toilet facilities at the main venue and practice venues.
Necessary directions were issued to the concerned departments for selection of contingents, cultural programmes, rehearsals, transportation facilities for participants, traffic management, security, dare devils, refreshment, installation of screens/LEDs, illumination of Government buildings, Mangal Dawani and other important arrangements for smooth conduct of the event.
The Div Com asked Deputy Commissioner Jammu to visit the venue to assess the works required to be done before the event like face lifting, whitewash etc. DC Jammu was told to constitute committees for finalizing the arrangements.
The Div Com also directed the Heads of Departments to appoint nodal officers of their respective departments for coordinating and finalising the arrangements.
