MVD Doda organises Health Checkup camp for Commercial Drivers

DODA, Nov 22: Motor Vehicles Department- Doda, in coordination of Health and AYUH Department & in collaboration with Transport Associations conducted a Mega Medical Health Checkup Camp cum General Awareness Programme for Commercial Vehicle Drivers at New Bus Stand Doda. The Camp was inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mohammad Yaqoob Mir as the Chief Guest of the Event.
Around 400 persons including Drivers, Cleaners, Transporters and general Public participated in the Medical Health Checkup Camp.
The team of doctors conducted a general medical Health Checkup of 72 Drivers/Cleaners & Eye sight test of 50 of them.
Further free medicines were distributed to 300 number of f Drivers/Cleaners by the AYUSH Department.
Earlier, Kuldeep Singh ARTO, Doda welcomed the participants in the Medical Health Checkup Camp and thanked Chief Medical Officer, ADMO AYUSH & Transport Associations for their cooperation in organizing the Medical Health Checkup Camp.
He expressed his gratitude to the Drivers for their greater participation and told them that due to the over business the drivers are not able to look after their Health and the basic purpose of the camp is to facilitate them.
He also briefed about the Road Safety Parameters to be followed by the Drivers and imparted awareness about the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.”
He stressed upon the drivers to refrain from any type of Drugs/intoxicant substances for their Healthy Life and Safety of the passengers.
Chief Medical Officer Doda also addressed the participants and urged the Commercial vehicle drivers to take care of their health and undergo Health Checkup on a routine basis. He stressed upon the need for safe driving and also talked about “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
He announced that the Health Department will provide free spectacles to the participating Commercial Vehicle Drivers those above 40 years of age and having eyesight problems.
The Medical team consisted of Dr. Adil Hamid Dar, Somi Raj Pharmacist, Raju Kumar, UHTC of Health Department and Dr. Mubashir Hussain Mintoo, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Zafarullah and Mohd Rafiq, Pharmacist of AYUSH Department.
Chander Mohan Sharma MVI, Jasbir Singh MVI, Vipan Parihar Accounts Assistant and the team of NYC Volunteers of MVD, Doda also participated in the event.
The program was conducted under the directions issued by Vishesh Paul Mahajan, Deputy Commissioner, Doda in the District Road Safety Committee Meeting held on 04-11-2022.
