GGM Science College organizes quiz competition | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 25: To commemorate Constitution Day NSS GGM Science College organized quiz under the patronage of worthy Principal Dr Rajesh Gupta and guidance of NSS PO Dr Deepali Mahajan. To teach constitutional values and principles to students, 'Know Your Constitution' programme was conducted in the college campus. Constitution Day also known as 'Samvidhan Divas', is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. The fundamental rights in the constitution have become the shield of the citizens while the fundamental duties remind us of our responsibilities. People must know that it took around 2 years 11 months 18 days to prepare the Indian Constitution. Indian constitution is the largest written constitution in the world. The original copy of the constitution was written by hand. The original copies of the Constitution are preserved inside the Library of Parliament. The box in which it is kept is filled with helium and wrapped in flannel cloth with naphthalene balls. Each page of the constitution has a gold leaf frame and the opening page of each chapter has some form of artwork. The renowned writer Prem Narayan Raizada had prepared the original copies of the constitution. The basic structure of the Indian Constitution is based on the Government of India Act 1935. NSS volunteer Himanshu, Manyaveer and Jatin conducted the quiz. Ten teams participated in the quiz competition. The winners were Team E Vansh, Anuj and Atul first position, Team A Palvinder and Rimjhim second position and Team I Rohit Shaan Rohit Singh third. The NSS PO applauded the efforts of NSS Volunteers for participating in events with enthusiasm and zeal. |
