Hold immediate Assembly elections - JKPCC Chief | | | Early Times Report BANI, Nov 26: JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani along with Working President Raman Bhalla and other senior leaders addressed a largely attended "Constitution Adhikar Rally" at Bani today in connection with Constitution Day Celebrations and attacked Modi led BJP Govt. of weakening the Constitutional and Democratic Institutions in the Country. Addressing a largely attended Congress rally "Constitution Adhikar Rally" at Bani today organized by District Congress Committee Kathua under the leadership of President Pankaj Dogra and Senior leader Smt. Kajal Rajput, JK PCC President Vikar Rasool Wani cautioned the people about the attempts to weaken the Constitution and its institutions in the Country under the Modi led BJP regime and asked them to rally behind Congress party and Rahul Gandhi to defeat such attempts. Recalling the efforts of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and stalwarts of the time led by Mahatma Gandhi and Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru to give one of the best Constitution in the world respecting the aspirations of all sections of our pluralistic country, he said that the constitution stood the test of the time and the country emerged as a strong democracy in the world but today it is under great stress and strain because of the policies of the Modi Govt. He said that the Constitutional and democratic institutions as well as the spirit of the Constitution is under attack by the Modi Govt. and the BJP as a result the struggle and efforts of Dr. Ambedkar and stalwarts of the freedom struggle and the makers of the Constitution and modern India are being defeated . The rights of the common man and the citizens are under attack by various modes and means for which the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi is on the streets, urging people to rally behind Congress party and Gandhi especially when he enters from Lakhanpur. JKPCC President demanded holding of Assembly elections without delay since the process of revision of voter lists is over so there is no reason to further delay the elections and deny people from their right to elect Govt. of their choice. He also reiterated the Congress demand for restoration of Statehood prior to holding of elections and right to land and job guarantee. Wani said that the people of far flung areas like Bani of the worst sufferers of the lack of elected Govt. and the people are at the mercy of bureaucrats who are not accountable to the public . He said that youth are without jobs and there are no job opportunities as claimed by the Govt. at the time of abrogation special status and downgrading g of the statehood. The unprecedented price hike has broken the backbone of poor and common man. Senior PCC leaders Rajnish Sharma, Pt. Pawan Raina, Pranav Shagotra, Sonu Dogra, Arti Gupta, Pradeep Bhalla also accompanied. Working President Raman Bhalla lambasted the BJP Govt. for betrayal with the youth and the common man of Jammu Region by offering jobs , business opportunities and land to outside influential persons at the cost of local people, post abrogation of Article 370 thus depriving the local youths and common man of the limited jobs and business opportunities. Lauding the role of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in framing of Constitution and the Congress stalwarts of the time, Bhalla said that the historical Dogra State was ruthlessly disbanded , divided and downgraded which is sheer abuse of the spirit of the Constitution written by Dr. Ambedkar and adopted this day , as it was against wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir who lost their identity, status, dignity and rights. The working president lashed out at the BJP leaders of Jammu who are mute spectators and dancing to tune of their bosses and ignoring the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir who want immediate restoration of statehood with safeguards to protect their land and jobs and the business opportunities and immediate holding of Assembly elections to elect their representatives and the Govt. who would listen to their day to day problems. |
