Youth of J&K feeling suppressed under present regime: Dr Vikas

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 9: Coordinator Jammu District (Urban) and Zonal Secretary Dr Vikas Sharma today said that National Conference alone was a party that has acceptability in both the regions of Jammu and Kashmir and can guarantee their equitable development.
While interacting with youth, Dr. Vikas Sharma said that ever since BJP took over the reign into its hand, majority of youth and general public are totally feeling disgruntled and slipped into a state of desperation due to anti youth policies of the present government.
“Today the youth of Jammu and Kashmir was the worst victim of discriminatory policies of the government.
They were feeling let down and betrayed. Despite the promise of 2 crore jobs every year, the Central Government has failed to fulfill its promise after coming to power. Ironically the graph of unemployment going high due to lack of job avenues is an open secret that reflects BJP’s utter failure on this very significant front too,” he lamented.
He also said, “We had heard of Union Territory being upgraded to State but BJP degraded the people of J&K by downgrading its status to Union Territory, an unprecedented decision taken by the saffron party.”
Dr Vikas also said the National Conference has a legacy of serving the poor and weaker sections of the society which was started by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. He maintained that the fight for restoration of statehood to J&K shall be the foremost agenda of the party. People of J&K have suffered a lot during the past three and half years since abolition of statehood.
He said that NC is fighting and will continue its fight till restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr Vikas appealed to the govt. to fill all the vacant posts in all the departments of J&K administration on fast track basis and also demanded that the govt. should give preference to local youth in the government. jobs on the pattern being followed in Ladakh territory.
He also appealed to the people to support the National Conference and strengthen the hands of its leadership Dr Farooq Abdullah and Janab Omar Abdullah in the impending Assembly elections in J&K to get rid of all the miseries thrust upon them by the BJP Govt.
Dr Vikas said that we have standing instructions from our party President Dr Farooq Abdhulla to keep in constant touch with the people at the grass root level and take note of their problems for appropriate solution and timely disposal.
