e-attack on Duggar identity; unemployment hangs over thousands of local artists, technicians: Sahni

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 12: Shiv Sena J&K unit raised serious concern over continuous attack on the cultural identity of Jammu division and its Dogra culture even after repealing of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.
In this context, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Jammu and Kashmir unit headed by Manish Sahni, President J&K unit staged a vigorous protest demanding the launch of a fully dedicated Duggar channel in Jammu.
Talking to reporters here today, Sahni said that the Dogra community, which played a key role in the victory of BJP MPs from both the Lok Sabha seats of Jammu division, is being ignored deliberately.
"Conspiracies are being hatched to destroy our rich cultural identity of Jammu region. After snatching of employment and business of son of soils, now the "Jammu Doordarshan Kendra", the only platform to enhance Dogra culture, has been completely paralyzed. Another glaring example of blatant discrimination against Jammu division, the attempt has made to shove Jammu Doordarshan into Kashmir division's Kashir channel," he said.
"The budget of Jammu Doordarshan is continuously being reduced, due to which Jammu Doordarshan is running on the support of re-telecast of old boring programs instead of doing its new production. Today the situation is such that all the artists including Dogri, Pahari, Gojri etc. associated with Jammu division, are being forced to suffer and stumble," he added.
Sahni said the intention of destroying the culture of Jammu and looting the resources is being followed, just as the BJP sent the projects of Maharashtra to Gujarat for electoral benefits, similarly the resources of Jammu Doordarshan were sent to Himachal Pradesh. Sahni said that if Jammu Doordarshan and Dugar channel are not restored as a fully dedicated satellite channel, then there will be a massive mass movement and protests outside the Raj Bhavan. Sahni appealed for support and cooperation to all the artists and organizations who love Dogra culture to save their identity and culture so that there is a huge and successful mass movement. On this occasion, President Women' Wing Meenakshi Chhibber, Senior Vice President Harsh Kumar Gupta, President Kamgar wing Raj Singh, Youth Secretary Rajesh Handa, Secretary Women Wing Geeta Lakhotra, Vice President Natwar Lal, Naresh, Dimple, Surendra, Shashipal, Mangu, Ranjit, Bishan Dass, Reshma Devi, Sanjay Thakur, President Ramban Tilak Raj and many others were present.
