APS Damana organises phase-I of Annual day function 'Shaam-e-Ghazal'

JAMMU, Dec 13: Army Public School Damana organised the Phase-I of Annual Day Function under the theme 'Shaam-e-Ghazal'-an evening soaked in the beauty of Ghazals on 10 December 2022 in the school auditorium wherein the school students mesmerized the audience with mellifluous performances amidst great splendour, mirth and zest.
Brig R.N Tewari, Chairman, APS Damana was the Hon'ble Chief Guest on the occasion. Mrs. Bhavna Tewari, Chairperson FWO CHENAB Brigade was the Guest of Honour. Among the other dignitaries present were Principals of APSs Cluster- I, COs of Brigade Units and parents who have graced the occasion with their benign presence.
The programme commenced with the welcome of the guests followed by the lighting of the Ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest Brig. R N Tewari, Guest of Honour Mrs. Bhavna Tewari and other eminent dignitaries accompanied by Mrs. Pushpinder Kaur, Principal APS Damana and Mrs. Shallu Kapoor, Vice Principal of the school.
The programme began with the Ghazal 'Hum Tere Shehar Main' by Mr. Harkrishan Singh, PRT Music. It was followed by an enthralling performance on 'Saat Suron Ka Behta Dariya' by Umika Sharma (X) who has already brought laurels to the school by garnering the Title of "Young Emerging Star" in an online event organised by Misaal National Talent Hunt. Thereafter, the young budding artists started exhibiting their melodious Ghazals. The niche audience was enthralled by the soulful performance by Mr. Jagbhushan Bakshi, TGT Music who has been elucidating musical skills amongst the students since 1999. Another limelight of the concert was the 'Instrumental Jugalbandi' presented by Mr. Harkrishan Singh accompanied by Tabla artist Master Amitoj Singh (XII), who could adequately catch listeners' imagination during the concert.
The students gave a clinical display of their talent in a concert that lasted for one hour.
The Ghazal listeners went totally enthralled as they listened to each melody with rapt attention and took the pleasure of the solace music presented on the occasion.
The Chief Guest appreciated the students for presenting soulful symphony gleaming with the feelings of pure bliss. Moreover, he also applauded the efforts of the school for organising such events that rejuvenate the soul.
Mrs. Pushpinder Kaur, Principal APS Damana appreciated the students for their meticulous performance and also motivated them to make more conscious efforts to achieve better results in their future endeavours.
The ceremony culminated with the choral singing of the National Anthem.
