Forest Division organises Mushroom development training at Thandapani

RAJOURI, Dec 20: Nowshera Forest Division organized Mushroom development training at Thandapani, Sunderbani.
A detailed demonstration of mushroom cultivation was imparted to the locals by the experts of the agricultural department and 200 bags of composed spawn mix bags were disturbed among the farmers.
A huge function was organized by Nowshera Forest Division at Village Thandapani in which Vinod Banyal Additional Deputy Commissioner was the Chief Guest and Mohan Lal Sarpanch Panchayat Talla Tanda was Guest of Honour. The program was attended by PRI members, students, beneficiaries and a large number of locals.
Speaking on the occasion, the Additional Deputy Commissioner threw light on various employment generation activities undertaken by the Forest Department under Green India Mission to increase the self-employment generation among the locals. A new ray of hope is coming towards the employment generation for the locals in Nowshera Forest Division as J&K Forest department is continuously working towards livelihood options and exploring employment generation under Green India Mission involving youth and women especially in the Chir Zone ecosystem of J&K UT.
Neelima Shah, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera expressed her gratitude to people who attended the program. She stressed that these types of entry point activities will help in developing coordination between the Forest Department and local people, which in turn helps in better conservation and protection of Forests. To cater to the employment demand of local peoples, Nowshera Forest Division has organized two local employment generating training programmes under the banner of Green India mission which includes one month training course of tailoring & stitching and mushroom cultivation both aim to diversify the livelihood option of local peoples.
Rakesh Verma, Range Forest Officer, Sunderbani emphasized that self employment was the basic need of the hour to attain the goal of a self dependent nation and empowerment of downtrodden and poor communities of rural India.
The event was organized by Rangeel Singh Block Forest Officer Sunderbani and Ved Parkash Block Forest Officer, Dharamsal along with active support of field staff.
The programme was conducted under the direct supervision of Vivek Verma Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri and Neelima Shah Divisional Forest Officer, Nowshera.
