SSP Traffic Police Rural Jammu launches special drive against traffic violators | Stresses on observing prescribed speed limit, avoid rash & negligent driving | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 20: To curb the menace of traffic violations, especially in Samba-Kathua area, Mohan Lal Kaith, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural Jammu along with Javaid Iqbal Tabassam, DySP(T) Samba-Kathua launched Special Drives today against the Traffic violators, especially indulging in overloading, over speeding, rash & negligent/stunt driving and other visible offences. Similar special drives were also launched in Rajouri & Poonch Districts under the supervision of Aftab Hussain Shah, DySP (Traffic) Rajouri-Poonch. During the special drives, 448 Vehicles were challaned and a fine to the tune of Rs 1.64 was recovered from the violators, as per New Motor Vehicle Act. Similarly, 8 Vehicles were also seized during the special drive and handed over to concerned Police Stations. Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP (Traffic) Rural Jammu stressed on the traffic cops to ensure proper discipline, accountability and transparency in traffic management system, so that the violators could be dealt with iron hand under the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act. The officers have been further directed to ensure wearing of the body worn camera while challaning and laying special focus towards the visible offences like overloading/over speeding/without seat belt driving, use of mobile phone & crash helmets etc. The challaning officers shall also ensure the use of the noise pollution device and other issued electronic gadgets while challaning the vehicles. The officer further stressed on the motorists to keep with them all the documents of their vehicles and get the same checked at Traffic checking point/Nakas. He requested the owners of the vehicles, transporters and agents to extend their full co-operation to the traffic cops, so that a proper check over the violators is maintained. The general public, as a whole, has to participate in this process and to take responsibility for hassle free movement of vehicles, he added. The officer especially advised the youth to ensure wearing of crash helmets while driving their bikes / two wheelers and avoid triple riding for their better safety and security. The vehicle operators have been briefed to ply their respective vehicles within the prescribed speed limit and avoid overloading, rash & negligent/stunt driving on road, so that the precious human lives could be saved. |
