JAMMU, Dec 21: In terms of Enforcement of provisions of FSSA, Rules and Regulations and to trace the wrong doers so that malpractices may not left unabbated ,today early morning on specific inputs the team of Food and Drugs Administration (Food Wing) on the directions of Commissioner FDA J&K raided in two shops of Fruits and Vegetable Mandies of Jammu, where the whole salers were found selling suspicious food items like fat spread coping butter and cream making the public convinced with the detailing of Butter of fat spread (Better D lite & Light) which is a deception without any standards and specifications.
The team expressed that these types of suspicious or supurious products are not only Risk to human health but a big challenge for Food Regulatory System too.To avoid such incidences, the Food Regulators needs the co- operation of professional registered marketers and the citizens/consumers .
During the raids 02 samples of fat spread coping butter and one sample of cream has been collected from the sellers and sent to lab for analysis under FSSA. The team draw attention of the public to be aware of such public health risks and in case of suspicious situation toll free no.104 is available for consumer Safety. |
