Court denies bail to 2 accused booked under NDPS Act

RAJOURI, Jan 7: The Court of Ld. Additional Sessions Judge Rajouri, Mehmood Choudhary, today denied bail to two accused booked under NDPS Act.
After hearing Mushtaq Chawan Advocate for the accused and Vijay Sudan (Addl. Public Prosecutor) Rajouri, theAdditional Sessions Judge rejected the bail application of the accused namely, Tasveer Hussain Shah S/O Zulf Shah R/O Dhangari and Tanveer Shah S/O Ashaq Shah R/O Draj, Tehsil Koteranka District Rajouri in case FIR No. 632/2022 U/S 8/20/29/27-A/NDPS Act of P/S Rajouri.
The FIR reveals that on December 9, 2022, at 5:30 PM the accused were held with 689.99 grams of charas. While dismissing the bail application of the accused persons, the Court observed that the quantity of Charas recovered from the accused persons clearly shows that they are involved in illegal Narcotic trade.
The investigation of the case is in progress and the police have yet to unearth the source from where the accused have taken the consignment. The Court further observed that bail should not be taken as a ready dish on platter from the court by the perpetrators of such crime and a bold and deterrent message is worth requiring to be given by the court in furtherance of endeavor for eradicating this menace from the society.
The quantity of Charas recovered from the accused persons falls in the intermediate quantity for which the punishment is more than 10 years and fine of Rs one lakh and keeping in view the gravity of offences, its impact on the society and the stage of investigation the Court rejected the bail application.
