Jammu, Jan 7: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday paid rich tributes to party founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on his seventh death anniversary and vowed to carry forward his agenda of peace and tranquility. Mohammad Mohammad Sayeed, founder of the Peoples’ Democratic Party died on 7 January 2016 at AIIMS in Delhi after being admitted there briefly. While paying tributes to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP leaders said that as a Chief Minister of J&K, he set an example of an accountable and transparent system of governance. They described the party founder as a far-sighted political stalwart and an astute administrator who, during his two tenures as Chief Minister, remained focussed on securing development and bettering the lot of people of J&K. “Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was the person who throughout his life maintained the simple living and high thinking philosophy as a guiding principle”, PDP leaders said, Pointing toward prevailing peace on the borders from Kathua to Kargil, PDP leaders said that it was the result of the pro-peace policies of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. They said Mufti Sayeed took a series of confidence-building measures and made strenuous efforts in making peace an inseparable feature of Jammu and Kashmir.
