Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 12: National Youth Day was celebrated by the students and faculty members of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Jammu on its campus on Thursday. An elocution competition was organised for the students of all the three courses under the banner of IIMC students' cultural group 'Jamghat'. The subject of elocution was 'Swami Vivekanand and Youth'. The programme was coordinated by Umesh Singh Bisht, Paras Pathak, Komal Soni, Ambika Rashmi, Aditya Singh, Sakshi Jaiswal. On this occasion, students such as Ambika Rashmi, Aditi Kashyap, Lucky Kumar, Aditi Raj and Neha Goswami shared their thoughts about the challenges faced by the youths in society. They also argued about behavioural, cultural and political prospectives, career opportunities, national building process etc. On the other hand, students such as Riya De Sarkar, Gaurvi Mathur, Rohan Deva, Arka Vatsa, Krishna Gopal, Nameera Anjum also gave wide prospectives about the life of Swami Vivekanand and his work. They shared about the life prospectives of the life of Swami Vivekanand. The judge of the elocution competition was Prof. Rakesh Goswami, Regional Director, IIMC, Jammu. Earlier, Dr. Vinit Utpal, Assistant Professor & Coordinator, Digital Media welcomed the students and faculty members. He introduced the subject 'Swami Vivekanand and Youth' among the participants of English Journalism, Hindi Journalism and Digital Media courses. Prof. Anil Saumitra, Professor and Coordinator, Hindi Journalism shared about the unknown facts of the life of Swami Vivekanand and his importance for the betterment the life of youth in society. Mr. Vishv, Assistant Professor presented the vote of thanks. |
