Jammu Club celebrates Lohri Fest

Jammu,Jan Jammu Club, a prestigious club of the Temple City, today celebrated Lohri Festival 2023 with great fervor in the Club premises here today.
On the occasion, Executive Members and Club members along with their family has participated in the celebrations by dancing on the tunes of Dhol.
During the event, a competition was also organized in which children of Club members participated in fancy dress, dance, singing and instrumental.
The competition was adjudged by Suma Singh, Anuradha Jangid and Ankita Kar. Later, the judges also distributed prizes among the winners.
Addressing the gathering, Gaurav Gupta extended greetings of the Lohri festival to everybody as it is a festival linked to harvesting of crop in northern parts of India. He said that the festival marks the end of harsh winter and depicts a profound bond with nature and plentiful harvesting. He said that the auspicious event of Lohri also corresponds with the beginning of ‘Magh’ month, which initiates only a day after Lohri with Makar Sankranti. He prayed for the good health of whole humanity and year free from worries and filled with good fortune.
While presenting vote of thanks, the Hony. Secretary also expressed gratitude to the Judges for sparing valuable time, Executive Members of the Managing Committee, Entertainment Sub Committee members headed by its Chairperson Mrs Indu Puri and staff members for their wholehearted support to make this event a memorable. He also extended special thanks to the children who mesmerize the audience with their scintillating performance. He assured the esteemed Club members that such programmes will continue in near future in their general interest. Sonal Chopra along with Mrs Indu Puri compered the programme and managed it very well .
Managing Committee members who were present on the occasion include Mr. Ashwani Gupta, Mr. Aditya Gupta, Er. Vikram Sharma, Mrs. Kavita Gupta, Prof. Aekta Gupta, Er. Tania Mahajan, Er. Ajay Sabharwal , Er. Ashok Sharma and Dr. Sandeep Singh.
