Unattended foot deformities may lead to amputation: Dr Rajeev Vohra | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 20: The presence of foot deformities lead to difficulty in walking and performing daily activities. Feet get deformed due to a variety of reasons like fractures, dislocations, sports injuries, arthritis of foot and ankle, diabetes and disorders of the muscles and nerves of the foot. If the injuries and disorders of the foot are neglected or inappropriately treated, then the feet get deformed and painful. The presence of the deformity prevents usage of normal foot wear, and leads to abnormal loading of the foot, and the patients start developing thickening of the skin, breakage of the skin and, ultimately wounds under the part of the foot which is abnormally loaded. If these wounds get severely infected, the whole foot may need amputation to prevent to prevent the spreading of the infection to the whole body says Dr Rajeev Vohra, Orthopedic and Foot and Ankle surgeon, Amandeep group of hospitals. It is important to accurately diagnose and treat the disorders of the foot which are likely to cause foot deformities at earliest, to allow normal walking and prevent complications due to deformities. The 'foot and ankle unit' of Amandeep hospital led by Internationally renowned Dr Rajeev Vohra is fully equipped with latest technologies to provide advance treatment of the problems of the foot and correct the severe deformities of the foot and ankle. Dr Rajeev Vohra will perform Opd for orthopedic and foot and ankle problems in Jammu every third Sunday of month. |
