126th Jayanti of Guru Gyagi Ji celebrated with religious fervour

JAMMU, Feb 5: The 126th Jayanti of Guru Gyagi Ji, a spiritual saint, was celebrated with religious fervour and gaity at his shrine in Shahzadpur here today.
In this connection, a grand religious function was held at Guru Gyagi Ji’s temple in which thousands of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu and neighbouring States participated. The function was organised by Guru Gyagi Birth Celebration Committee.
The entire temple complex was fully decorated by the Committee befitting the occasion.
The devotees paid obeisance in the temple and prayed for peace and prosperity of mankind.
Besides Pooja-Archana and Havan was also held in the holy temple by the devotees.
The devotees also sang bhajans in praise ofGuru Ji. They were served prasad by the committee. There was a beelíne of devotees right from early in the morning waiting for their turn to perform darshan.
Guru Gyagi Foundation Secretary R.L.Kaith welcomed the chief guest, the guests of honour and other dignitaries. Kaith also highlighted the secular aspect and universal character of Guru Gyagi giving references of global brotherhood and oneness of the mankind.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Sukhnandan Choudhary said that Guru Gyagi showed us the path of a compassionate virtuous life and an inclusive society. He added that may Guru Gyagi Ji’s eternal message guides us on the path of creating a kind and peaceful world.
The guest of honour SSP Mohan Lal Kaith said that the spiritual scholars have left indelible mark in public service, which needs to be emulated by people for making this world a better place to live in. Corporator Rashpal Bhardwaj said that may Guru Gyagi Ji’s noble teachings continuce to guide us in our endeavour of building a just and compassionate society.
While DDC member Balbir Lal said the auspicious Guru Gyagi’s birthday teaches us brotherhood, amity and work together to fight ignorance, poverty and other problems of society.
On the occasion, Guru Gyagi Birth Celebration Committee congratulated Abhishek Kumar Kaith for passing JKAS exam. It said that it’s a great achievement, inspiration to the others and ideal for the newers and asked him to make his best contribution, play an important role in nation-building, and become a responsible citizen. Also to encourage the students to work hard and behave diligently in future, the committee felicitated the meritorious students and advised them to follow the path of honesty and kindness.
Besides, the committee released the Calendar 2023 dedicated to Guru Gyagi Ji and distributed its copies among the devotees.
Shri Dilay conducted the proceedings of the function.
