Police arrest four drug peddlers with heroin, charas | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 6: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested four drug peddlers and recovered heroin and Charas from their possession in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. A police statement said that during checking at Delina Ghat, Police stopped a vehicle boarded with three persons and recovered 35 grams of contraband heroin like substance from them. The accused have been identified as Jan Mohammad Lone alias Jagawar, Nadeem Ahmad Mir both residents of Delina and Maroof Ahmad Khan a resident of Uri who were taken into custody. The vehicle was also seized. Similarly Police at Harthrat Pattan area witnessed suspicious movement of a person and on noticing Police checking party he tried to flee from the spot and was apprehended tactfully. During his search, 35 grams of contraband Charas and 2.2 kgs of Poppy Straw like substance was recovered from him. The drug peddler who was identified as Javid Ahmad Mir a resident of Chenabal Pattan was taken into custody. Cases under Narcotic Drugs Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act registered in Police Station Baramulla & Pattan and investigations set in motion, police said. |
