Energy conservation drive held in GGM Science College | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 24: NSS unit II GGM Science College under the patronage of worthy Principal Prof. Rajesh Gupta and guidance of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan organized drive Energy conservation in the college campus under the aegis of G 20. Renewable energy investment in India is vital for meeting its international and domestic climate goals. India during its ongoing G20 presidency has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle Joint Business Council to further promote the adoption of energy efficiency and sustainable practices Energy conservation is the decision and practice of using less energy. NSS volunteers interacted with college students to make them aware. Turning off the light when you leave the room, unplugging appliances when they’re not in use and walking instead of driving are all examples of energy conservation. Using CFL and LED bulbs to save energy. Clean or replace air filters as recommended. Air conditioners (AC) and heaters consume more energy than other appliances. Cook using the right-sized burner.Using public transport systems instead of individual vehicles. Use of electric and hybrid vehicles instead of vehicles that run on hydrocarbon fuel. Using power saving devices. Using non-conventional energy sources. Carry cloth bags and say no to use of plastics.
