DC interacts with public in Bhagwah
Declares Bhagwah Block as drugs free

DODA, Mar 1: Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan today, while interacting with the public at Higher Secondary School Bhagwah, declared Bhagwah Block drugs free after receiving the certificate from concerned department during Weekly Block Diwas.
While replying to a demand raised by locals, DC has informed that the administration shall be holding a mega tourism activity/ mela at Lal Draman soon.
DC has asked the public and the department to take up works benefiting the whole area for the overall development of the district.
He reiterated that inclusive development and peace is the prime goal of the government, and every citizen must contribute his efforts in realising this goal. Several public delegations, individuals besides PRI members, projected the local demands and problems being faced by the public.
The major demands projected by the public include: Establishment of Horticulture Mandi in the area; New building for HSS Bhagwah; Upgradation of Lower High School Manjmi; Construction of new roads; Shortage of staff in Schools and Health care institutions; Repair of Doda Bhagwah road; Shortage of Patwaris in the Tehsil; Start of JJM schemes etc.
The DC assured people that their demands will be redressed on priority by mobilizing all available resources.
During the program, SSP Doda also spoke on the focus areas of the police services in the district.
At all other designated locations, the daylong Block Diwas proceedings were witnessed. Public and PRIs put forth a range of issues/ demands. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.
Deputy Commissioner also inspected Tehsil Office Bhagwah, Anganwadi Centre Bhagwah, Amrit Sarovar at Bhagwah, and launched plantation drive in the area by planting lemon plant.
He was accompanied by SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, BDC Chairperson Bhagwah, and other District and sectoral officers.
