Reasi, Mar 17: Continuing the series of Trainings, a training programme on Minimising Pesticide Use & Land use Planning was organised at Conference Hall D C office Reasi, here today. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Agriculture officer Reasi, Harbans Singh stressed on Reducing the indiscriminate use of pesticides keeping in the view adverse effects of pesticides on humans and environment. Regarding Land Use Planning, he said we have to put efforts to maintain soil health by the way of Natural/Organic agriculture. DAO Extension, Rajesh Verma highlighted the Promotion of bioagents, Bio pesticides, and safe pesticides for production of quality food. Start ups for increasing the production of bio control agents should also be promoted. During technical session, Head KVK, Banarasi Lal deliberated about Land Use Planning including robust land use policy, educating the farmers on soil health management and action plan for improving soil health. Agriculture Assistant (Inputs), Sushil Gupta through PPT covered the topics like IPM strategies, Regulatory measures for reduction of pesticide use. Those who participated in the training include District Agriculture officer, Ravinder Tripathi SMS DL, Amit Sharma, ASCO, Varinder Dogra, and Sub division Agriculture officer Dharmari, Rupinder Pal Singh Bedi, SDAO Reasi, Vinod Khajuria, SMSs, AEOs and other field functionaries. |
