Distt Admin seals 7 e-service providers for overcharging | | | Early Times Report POONCH, Mar 30: Acting on complaints of overcharging by private digital service providers, the district administration sealed seven establishments dealing with government e-services. On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Inder Jeet, a team of officers led by Naib Tehsildar Poonch, Maroof Khan and Naib Tehsildar Bandichichiyan, Randhir Singh under the supervision of Tehsildar Haveli, Anjum Khan Khattak conducted surprise inspections and sealed those found overcharging. The government has prescribed a rate list for all government e-services for the welfare of the general public. Deputy Commissioner Poonch advised all e-service providers to adhere to prescribed rates to avoid adverse action from the administration. The frequency of market inspections will be increased in the coming days. In a separate market checking drive during Holy Navratri and Ramzan, a team of officers from Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department Poonch headed by Assistant Director (FCS&CA), Ranjit Singh along with Food Safety, Legal Metrology and other officials conducted rigorous market checking of various food business units. A fine of Rs 4700 was imposed for violations such as non-display of rate lists and overcharging. Deputy Commissioner Poonch formed a committee last week to curb hoarding and profiteering in Poonch markets during Navaratri and Ramadan. On the occasion, the team warned food business operators not to violate food safety regulations and maintain sanitary conditions. Failure to do so would result in hefty fines. Assistant Director (FCS&CA) Poonch stressed the importance of selling safe and quality food items adhering to standards prescribed by FSSAI, BIS and other national regulators. The drive is being carried out to ensure all food safety standards are followed.
