DC reviews arrangements for Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-e-Qadr, Eid-ul-Fitr

Poonch, Apr 16: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet chaired a meeting of line departments to review the arrangements for Shab-e-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed availability of drinking water, power, poultry, mutton, ration, security, medicare facilities and LPG in the district, besides other essential items in markets.
Representatives of Civil Society members, including religious organisations put forth various demands and suggestions for making fool proof arrangements for the convenience of the people.
After threadbare discussion, the Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned departments to effectively regulate supply of food grains, power and drinking water. The DC also stressed to ensure adequate transport and parking facilities in the town.
He asked the concerned authorities to prepare a comprehensive route plan with the Traffic Department, besides creating temporary additional parking slots so that better transport facilities will be provided to the people during these auspicious days.
The PHE department was asked to provide water supply to eidgah and put in place water tankers as per need, JPDCL was directed to ensure regular power supply while the Fire Services department was directed to keep the fire tenders on alert 24/7. The EO MCP was directed to maintain cleanliness in market places, mosques and other areas in the district
The Deputy Commissioner further directed the FCS&CA, Municipal Committee Poonch and Legal Meteorology department to conduct market inspection to keep a check on overcharging by traders and quality of food being sold during these auspicious occasions.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed the Sheep Husbandry department to keep close watch on the rates of Mutton/Meat sold by the Shopkeepers and to ensure that it doesn't exceed the rates fixed by the department.
The DC stressed all concerned officers to work with added zeal, energy and close coordination for the successful and hassle-free culmination of big congregations of Shab-e-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr across the District.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Rohit Baskotra, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, Chief Medical Officer, Tehsildar Haveli, Bashir Anjum Khan Khattak, EO Municipality, Mushtaq Hussain, AD Food & Supply, Ranjeet Singh, Xen PWD(R&B), Xen PHE, ARTO Poonch, and other officers of concerned departments besides members of civil society, prominent citizens and religious heads.
