Strong political will changes India | | | The 2016 surgical strikes and 2019 Balakot airstrikes sent a clear message to Pakistan and the terrorist bosses sitting across the Line of Control that they cannot take India for granted. In 2016, Indian Army crossed the LoC and hit the terror training camps deep inside Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). In 2019, Indian Air Force jets crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and bombarded the terror training camps deep inside the Pakistan territory at Balakot. The surgical strikes and Balakot airstrikes demonstrated the strong political will of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government. Both the actions drove home a point that India cannot be taken for granted and if the terrorists indulge in any misadventure they would be given a befitting reply. India has put in place adequate military power that has the ability to achieve deterrence, ensure information dominance, coerce when needed and provide multiple response options. After Narendra Modi took over as the Prime Minister of the country in 2014, he made it explicitly clear that terror and talks cannot go together. For the past nine years the dispensation led by him has remained firm in its resolve. The Zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism has paid dividends as the terrorists and their handlers have understood that if they cast an evil eye towards India it can have far reaching consequences for them. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led regime on August 5, 2019, took a historic decision by scrapping Article 370 and integrated J&K completely with the Union of India. Since then there has been no looking back. Security forces have dealt severe blows on terrorists in J&K and have almost wiped out the terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir. J&K’s transition into a Union Territory and its complete merger with the Union of India has ended all the debates once for all. In PM Modi India has found a leader who believes in straight and hard talk. His efforts have pulled J&K out of the chaos and confusion. During 9-years of PM Modi’s rule India has progressed and has emerged as the fifth largest economy in the world. India has shunned its image of being soft towards terrorism and the entire world is lauding the efforts of the country in its fight against the terrorism. |
