Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Apr 24: Kisan Sampark Abhiyan, a crucial initiative under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, was today launched across 19 Panchayats of the district Rajouri.
The campaign aims to connect farmers with different agricultural schemes, educate them about innovative agricultural practices, and improve their overall farming experience. The campaign shall run till August 31, 2023.
District Development Commissioner Vikas Kundal, inaugurated the campaign at Panchayat Aitti, where he interacted with farmers and encouraged them to take advantage of the government schemes. Kundal emphasised the importance of adopting millets in agricultural cultivation, as these are a sustainable crop and can withstand drought conditions.
The DDC was accompanied by District Nodal Officer HADP (District Sheep Husbandry Officer), Dr Sarfraz Naseem Choudhary, concerned sarpanch and officials of Agriculture and allied departments.
The Kisan Sampark Abhiyan initiative will create awareness among farmers about the latest agricultural practices, modern techniques, and innovative solutions to address common problems faced by farmers. The programme will help farmers understand the different government schemes available to them and encourage them to take advantage of these schemes to enhance their productivity and profitability.
The DDC stated that the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan is a significant step towards achieving the goal of doubling farmers' income by 2022. The programme will bridge the gap between farmers and the government and provide them with the necessary support and guidance to improve their farming practices.
"The programme will also provide a platform for farmers to interact with experts from the Agriculture Department and seek their advice on various aspects of farming, such as crop selection, soil management, pest control, and irrigation methods,''he added
He reiterated that the HADP initiative is a major step towards creating a sustainable and profitable agricultural ecosystem for farmers. The programme aims to empower farmers with knowledge and tools that can help them enhance their productivity and profitability while also contributing to the overall growth of the agriculture sector.
The district administration is committed to supporting farmers and ensuring their success. The Kisan Sampark Abhiyan initiative is just one of the many steps being taken to achieve this goal.
Farmers were shown informative films that described the various programmes provided by the Agriculture Department throughout the day in all 19 of the panchayats where the Jan Sampark Abhiyan has been launched. Following the video presentations, department officers offered the farmers more help in understanding the goals and purposes of the videos. The farmers participated in the Jan Sampark Abhiyan camp at selected areas together with PRI members, and they praised the government's choice to start this initiative to support farmers.
It is encouraging to see the government acting proactively to address the difficulties farmers confront and support them in realising their full potential.Such programmes must be maintained in order to sustain the engine of our economy and guarantee sustainable growth for all.
