Y20 Leh summit to boost tourism, strengthen India's resolve: Raman
4/27/2023 11:08:36 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 27: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said that the three-day meet of Y20 delegates at Leh, in which more than 100 young leaders from 30 countries are participating, will send a strong message to neighbouring countries, strengthen India's resolve, boost tourism and enable youngsters to hammer out solution to various issues confronting the world like global warming, role of youth in democracy, good governance, climate change, making sustainability a way of life, providing good health besides encouraging sports for physical and mental fitness.
Raman Suri said that India, after assuming the presidency of G20 on December 1 last year, had been working hard on holding various summits across the length and breadth of the country. This international summit at Leh, being the first-of-its-kind in the northernmost part of the country, is going to leave an indelible mark on the hearts and souls of people who believe in India's core value system of 'Vasudeva Kutumbakam' and are following the G20 theme of 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'.
He said, this Youth-20 meeting under the G20 summit at Leh will enable youth from world over to see our culture, traditions, untapped and unexplored nature, hospitality of the people of Ladakh and will send a strong message to the neighboring countries who had been casting their doubts on India's resolve to develop the Union Territories of J&K as well as Ladakh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, is committed to make Ladakh carbon neutral and the youth from world over will get to see the steps being initiated towards that and will also be able to put forth their suggestions, which will be healthy and participative in nature.
Raman Suri added that holding such international events in Jammu, Kashmir or Ladakh parts of Northern India sends a strong message across the world that we are progressing post abrogation of Article 370 and these areas continue to be an integral part of the country. China, by boycotting G20 meet in Arunachal Pradesh, might have tried to put a point forth but this meeting and participation of over 100 delegates from 30 countries is going to establish how India is concerned about world issues and is contributing in their resolution, especially when youngsters of Ladakh will also put forth or share their views with the visiting delegates.
The BJP leader said, India under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is progressing on all fronts and such international events or presidency of G20 is an opportunity that will enable our future leaders and technocrats besides commoners to become responsible towards global issues and be part of their solutions in whatever manner they can. He hoped that the visiting delegates will return with sweet memories of Ladakh, its lakes, pristine beauty of the cold desert and hospitality besides getting enriched with knowledge of India's vast region, that despite hostile weather conditions, continues to contribute in nation building.
