JAMMU, Apr 29: State Vice President BJP and Former Minister, Sham Lal Sharma today inaugurated a well equipped state-of-the-art swimming pool complex at RMG International School , Jandiyal Thathi.
The momentous event saw the cutting of the ribbon by the esteemed chief guest Sham Lal Sharma, former Minister and Vice-President BJP J&K UT, accompanied by Trustee of RMG International School Mohan Lal Gupta, Chairman Rohit Gupta, Director Mona Gupta, Principal Anil Pathania, vice Principal Indu Kapoor and Headmistress Meenal Rathore. The ceremonial atmosphere was electrified with the divine blessings of the Water God, as everyone invoked His blessings for the safety and well-being of all swimmers. Amidst the cheers and applause of the gathered-throng, the talented students of the school presented a mesmerising array of cultural items, showcasing their vibrant culture and rich heritage. Their spirited performances added to the fervor and excitement of the occasion, igniting a spark of enthusiasm in the hearts of all those present.
Addressing the esteemed gathering Sham Lal Sharma said that The overall development of students refers to their holistic growth, which includes not only academic learning but also physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. It involves nurturing students' intellectual, emotional, social, and physical well-being, preparing them to become well-rounded individuals who can succeed in all areas of life.
Sharma said that Physical activity provides opportunities for students to interact with their peers and develop social skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership. Research has shown that regular physical activity is associated with improved academic performance, including higher grades and better concentration and by Encouraging such physical activity in schools helps develop lifelong healthy habits that students can carry into adulthood.
He also emphasised that educational institutions should offer a range of extracurricular activities such as sports, music, art, drama, and clubs. These activities provide opportunities for students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build relationships with peers.
He also appreciated RMG International School for taking such great initiative which will provide a foundation for students to grow and thrive, both academically and personally. A well-rounded education that focuses on academic learning, extracurricular activities, social and emotional development, health and wellness, and career readiness is essential to prepare students for success in life.
