Early Times Report

RAJOURI, Apr 29: In continuation to the Nasha Mukht Bahrat Abhiyan, the district administration Rajouri today organised a mega anti- drug campaign here in Government Degree College.
The mammoth anti-drug awareness program was attended by more than 1500 people including students of Degree College, Higher Secondary Schools, teachers, members of the Civil society including religious and community leaders, political and social leaders, PRI members, paramedical staff, Asha and Anganwadi workers, and common masses.
All the speakers threw light on the setback being caused by the menace of drug abuse in the society. They deliberated in detail how its tentacles are spreading the grip on our younger generation and pose a serious threat to the society as a whole.
All the speakers emphatically appreciated the efforts of the District Administration Rajouri for waging an all-out war against this demon by mobilizing each and every segment of the society including religio-politico-socio-government and non-government agencies which if continued in this manner shall definitely conclude by winning this battle and saving our generation from this most challenging threat of our time.
The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri explained in detail about the urgency involved in waging the war against this social evil in the district as it has spread in alarming proportion and if steps on a war footing are not taken at this point of time, the disease will cause an irreparable loss to the society, and our conscience will not be able to justify the responsibility which the society has bestowed on us.
Further, he also shared the strategy of the District Administration in the coming days which includes holding of massive awareness programs in every nook and corner of the district including at tehsil, block, Panchayat, ward, and Mohalla level, roping in all especially the religious leaders/ community leaders, political and civil society members, teachers, councillors, PRI members, NGOs, Government departments especially Health, Social Welfare, Education, drug controller department, chemists etc.
