Early Times Report REASI, Apr 29: Chairman District Disaster Management Authority, Babila Rakwal today distributed Emergency Response Kits among the recently trained "Aapda Mitras". The District Magistrate handed over the Kits (comprising a Personal Floatation Device, Safety Gloves, Pocket Knife, First Aid Kit, Gas Lighter, Uniform, GUM Boots, Safety Goggles, Safety Helmets, Torch - Emergency Light), Certificates and Identity Cards to the Aapda Mitra after a proper display. She asked the Aapda Mitras to keep the Kits in proper custody and maintenance so that at the time of emergency, the same can be used flawlessly. The District Magistrate exhorted the Aapda Mitras to spread the awareness and knowledge about the Disaster Management Techniques they have learned among the people living in their localities. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Abdul Star, gave a detailed resume on the training imparted to the Aapda Mitras of District Reasi on the directions of the Government. He further informed that a total of 100 volunteers have been trained at Kote Bhalwal, Training Centre of SDRF 2nd Bn for a period of 12 days in each group. Trainees (Aapda Mitras) comprised Red Cross Volunteers, MTS of Revenue, Animal Husbandry, Irrigation and Flood Control departments, NCC cadets etc. Dy. SP SDRF 2nd Bn, Daljeet Singh gave a brief of the training imparted to the Aapda Mitras like CPR, Rock Climbing, Rafting, Fire fighting etc. All the trained Aapda Mitra were present and they also shared their experience of training and expressed their thanks to the Government for their training in Disaster Management. |
