World endorses India’s stand
4/30/2023 11:25:03 PM
The upcoming G20 working group meeting slated to be held in Srinagar on May 23-24 is all set to boost the tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
The recently concluded Y20 summit in Ladakh brought around 100 young minds from different countries together and they discussed various issues.
The Y20 summit at Ladakh will be followed by the G20 meeting in Srinagar, summer capital of J&K.
Union Territories of Ladakh and J&K hosting Y20 and G20 meetings and delegates from the most powerful countries in the world coming to attend these have endorsed India’s stand that the world acknowledges both the UTs as its integral parts.
When New Delhi had announced its decision to host the meetings in J&K and Ladakh Pakistan had raised objections and had tried to dissuade the G20 participants. Except for China none of the G20 countries paid any attention towards the objections that were raised by Pakistan.
It’s for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370 that J&K and Ladakh UTs are holding an international summit. The Y20 and G20 meets have provided a chance to both the Union Territories to showcase before the world their achievements and the potential in different fields.
The delegates who attended the Y20 meet in Ladakh are all set to become the brand ambassadors of the UT. The recently held international event in Ladakh would go a long way in promoting the Union Territory globally.
Similarly the G20 meeting scheduled to be held in Srinagar will help in putting the J&K UT on the global tourism map and would lead to more and more people wanting to visit Jammu and Kashmir. To host Y20 and G20 meetings is an honour for UTs of J&K and Ladakh.
Till August 5, 2019, when the Centre announced its decision to scrap J&K’s special status, no one would have ever even imagined that Srinagar would host a G20 meeting as the foreign countries had issued various advisories to their citizens not to visit J&K due to terrorism in the region.
The hard work done by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led regime has restored the normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir and has opened it to the world.
