Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 19: Devender Singh Rana, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), expressed his belief that the upcoming G20 summit in the Valley will have a transformative impact on the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that this mega event will open up new opportunities for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, showcasing the region's rich potential and ethos on a global platform.
During his interaction with various delegations and individuals from different walks of life at the BJP's weekly grievance redressal public hearing held at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Rana highlighted the significance of the G20 summit. He particularly mentioned that the tourism sector and other industries in Jammu and Kashmir will benefit greatly from the event, as it will draw attention to the region's scenic beauty, spiritual ambiance, and various tourist attractions. This, in turn, will boost the economy, attract investments, and create employment opportunities. Rana also emphasized that sectors such as horticulture, handicrafts, art, and culture will gain wider exposure through this historic occasion.
Rana commended the people and civil society of Jammu and Kashmir for actively participating in various activities leading up to the event, which has contributed to the transformation of the historic city. He expressed confidence that the participants will have a memorable experience and praised the warm hospitality for which Jammu and Kashmir is renowned worldwide.
Reflecting on the past nine years, Rana highlighted the BJP's initiatives that have propelled India towards progress and development. He emphasized the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas" (Together with all, development for all, trust of all, efforts of all) agenda, which has garnered international attention and hope, especially during challenging times. Rana stressed the importance of carrying forward this momentum with renewed vigor and confidence.
Addressing the grievances raised by the delegations and individuals, Rana assured them that their concerns would be addressed through appropriate channels. He underscored the BJP's grievance redressal mechanism at various levels and the positive impact it has had on streamlining government functioning based on feedback. Rana also highlighted the party's commitment to public outreach, particularly at the grassroots level.
A total of 63 delegations from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir, including the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, presented collective and individual issues during the public hearing.
During a subsequent interaction with the media, Rana expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for his prompt action in setting up Common University Entrance Test (CUET) centers in Jammu and Kashmir for the convenience of students.
