Early Times Report JAMMU, May 19: In a suo-moto Public Interest Litigation (PIL) addressing the issue of illegal religious structures encroaching on public land, such as public streets, parks, and other public spaces, a Division Bench of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, comprising Chief Justice N. Kotishwar Singh and Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, expressed concern over the delay in submitting the required report. The Court had previously granted four weeks' time to S.S. Nanda, Senior Additional Advocate General, to file the report, as per the order dated December 22, 2020. However, the report has not been filed within the specified timeframe. Considering the circumstances, the Division Bench has directed that if the report is not filed within two weeks, a penalty of Rs. 10,000/- will be imposed on the responsible officer or official, to be deducted from their salary. |
