Jammu, May 19: On May 18, 2023, a police team from Police Station City Jammu conducted a naka checking/traffic regulation duty at Ranvireshwer Temple Chowk.
The team was led by Sunil Kaser, SDPO City North, Jammu, and assisted by SI Mohinder Singh, SHO P/S City Jammu. The operation was conducted under the supervision of SP City North, Kulbir Handa, and overall supervision by SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli.
During the checking, the police team stopped a Swift car with the registration number JK02BL-5428 for inspection. Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered approximately 7 grams of a substance resembling heroin (commonly known as “chitta”) in the possession of the driver.
The driver was identified as Vinay, son of Tarsem, residing at H.No. 362, Dogra Hall, Jammu.
Vinay was immediately arrested at the scene.
As a result, a case FIR No. 25/2023 was registered at P/S City Jammu under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act, specifically U/S 8/21/22. The police have initiated further investigation into the matter. |
