OBC representatives present Public grievances to Principal GMC | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 23: A delegation led by Adv. Suresh Dogra, Chairman of the OBC Department in Pradesh Congress Committee J&K, met with Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal of Government Medical College, to present a memorandum outlining the grievances of the public. The meeting focused on addressing the issues and challenges faced by the public. Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma attentively listened to the delegation's concerns. Speaking at the gathering, Adv. Suresh Dogra emphasized the crucial role of doctors as the "second God." He acknowledged the significant contribution of doctors in saving lives during the COVID-19 pandemic, often at the risk of their own lives. Adv. Dogra, along with his team including Parshotnam Mehra (General Secretary), Darshan Vemaj (spokesperson), Janak Mehra, Darshan Verma, Vikas Mehra, and others, presented a memorandum highlighting the problems and grievances faced by the public. The issues raised were as follows: Insufficient seating arrangements for patients and attendants in the OPD. Lack of nurses and paramedical staff in emergency cases. Inadequate facilities and shortage of ventilators in the emergency ward. Shortage of critical ambulances and regular ambulances. Long waiting periods and high fees for X-rays, ultrasounds, and other medical tests. Request for exemption of entry fees for BPL attendants of patients. Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma assured Adv. Suresh Dogra and his team that the grievances would be carefully considered and addressed in a timely manner. She expressed her commitment to resolving the issues raised during the meeting. |
