Early Times Report JAMMU, May 28: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, criticized PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday for her support of terrorist Yasin Malik, who is facing a death sentence sought by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from the Delhi High Court. Speaking at the Khajuria Community congregation held at Baba Amboji Devsthan, Bahu Fort, the BJP stalwart expressed his approval of the NIA's decision to approach the Delhi High Court, emphasizing that the crimes committed by life-term convict Malik are unforgivable. He further pointed out that Mehbooba's endorsement of one of the top terrorists in J&K raises suspicions about a potential connection between the two. Kavinder called for a thorough investigation into the matter and strict action against Mehbooba if found guilty. Kavinder asserted that individuals like Mehbooba and her associates have pushed Jammu and Kashmir to the brink of collapse. It was only when PM Narendra Modi assumed leadership of the country, revoked Article 370, and cracked down on those posing a threat to peace and tranquility that stability, peace, and progress were restored. He demanded accountability from Mehbooba for her deceitful actions that were detrimental to the region and the nation. Earlier, Kavinder Gupta visited Baba Ambo ji Devsthan at Bahu Fort, where he offered prayers for the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. The senior BJP leader also participated in a congregation at Data Ranpat Devji in Birpur, where he performed Darshan. Deputy Mayor Baldev Blowria, Rajeev Charak, senior BJP leader, Anuradha Charak, and Ashwani Sharma, former MLA, were present during the event. Swaran Singh Charak, President of the Biradari, felicitated Kavinder Gupta, Baldev Blowria, and Rajeev Charak on the occasion. |
