| GDC Vijaypur organizes webinar | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, May 29: The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) of Govt. Degree College Vijaypur recently organized a webinar on legal training for effective compliance with the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act. The purpose of this webinar was to sensitize all ICC committee members, including student members, about the prevention of sexual harassment and to raise awareness about the issue. The event consisted of two sessions. Dr. Shital Sharma, the Presiding Officer of the ICC, began the program with a welcome address, introducing the resource person, Dr. Anupama Mahajan. Dr. Mahajan is a professor in the Marketing Department of Commerce at Bharati College, New Delhi, and also serves as an External Member of the ICC at GDC Vijaypur. She provided detailed insights during the first session, highlighting the importance of creating awareness about gender equality and equity. Dr. Mahajan delivered a comprehensive talk on the dynamics of preventing sexual harassment in the workplace and its significance for human existence. The second session was exclusively for staff members of the ICC, where Dr. Mahajan emphasized various laws related to sexual harassment. She presented different solutions to handle such cases, supported by relevant examples. Additionally, she discussed the key responsibilities of the ICC. The webinar received guidance from Dr. Vandana Gupta, the Principal of the College, who commended the resource person for shedding light on this sensitive and prevalent issue. She also appreciated the efforts of the organizing team.
