Jammu, May 29: Shere-Kashmir Sports Club, Jammu, in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir AIDS Control Society, organized an awareness camp today at Transport Nagar, Jammu. The camp witnessed active participation from a large number of people, particularly youth aged between 18 and 35 years. The primary focus of the camp was to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, voluntary blood donation, and drug de-addiction. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Shiban Krishan Sharma, a resource person who highlighted the importance of adhering to the guidelines set by the National AIDS Control Organization and the Jammu and Kashmir AIDS Control Society for the prevention, treatment, and control of HIV/AIDS. He emphasized the need for the youth to refrain from drug abuse and the use of injected drugs. The camp also discussed the high-risk groups within communities and their topology. Other speakers at the camp emphasized the significance of voluntary blood donation and encouraged the youth to actively participate in this noble cause. Among the attendees were Happy Singh, Rajveer Singh, Pummy, Ravi Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Raja, Summit, Kapil, Aman Singh, Anish, Javaid, Nikhil Sharma, Akhter Khan, Saleem, and many others. The camp served as an important platform to educate and empower the youth, promoting a healthier and safer community. |
