| JKTPO revolutionizes e-commerce in J&K with ONDC onboarding drive | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 29: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) organized an onboarding drive for the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to transform e-commerce in the region. The event, held at Udyog Bhawan in Jammu under the supervision of Khalid Jahangir, Managing Director of JKTPO, aimed to assist sellers, artisans, retailers, small merchants, and traders in joining the ONDC platform to sell their products.
ONDC is a pioneering initiative that aims to revolutionize digital commerce in India and establish a globally replicable model. It provides an open network for digital commerce players to participate and connect through multiple gateways.
During the drive, Banu Singh, Vice President of Sales at MyStore, the ONDC seller partner, highlighted the benefits and functionality of the platform. He also announced that J&K-based sellers would not be charged any onboarding or subscription fees. The ONDC platform is currently operational in 236 cities across India, including Jammu and Kashmir.
MyStore conducted one-to-one networking sessions with participants and facilitated their registration and onboarding on the seller platform. Around 20 companies and sellers were onboarded on the spot, while others gained a clear understanding of the onboarding process and will register their digital catalogues subsequently. The categories onboarded included Food and Beverages, Handloom and Handicrafts, Groceries, and Home Décor. The platform aims to create new opportunities and challenge digital monopolies in the e-commerce sector.
The workshop received an enthusiastic response from local sellers and entrepreneurs. This onboarding drive is part of a series of planned events to promote e-commerce and encourage digitalization among local entrepreneurs in J&K. A similar onboarding drive is scheduled to take place in Pampore on May 31, 2023, at JKEDI for stakeholders in the Kashmir Division |
