Reasi, May 31: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi, under the guidance of Director Extension Prof. SK Gupta of SKUAST-J, organized a training program on ‘Hydroponics: An Advanced Agricultural Technology.’ The program took place at the KVK, Reasi campus and was attended by input dealers from Udhampur and Reasi districts of J&K. Various technical sessions were held during the program, where experts discussed the benefits of hydroponics farming and highlighted the advantages of this innovative technique. They emphasized that hydroponics allows for uniform crop growth, balanced nutrition and water supply to each plant, and eliminates problems like weeds. The experts also emphasized that hydroponics results in healthier plants with increased vigor, faster growth, and early harvest. They highlighted that this technique requires less space, allows for water reuse, and has potential in water-saving agriculture. The program also included discussions on biofertilizers, nano fertilizers, and the timing and dosage of nutrients for horticultural crops. |
