Early Times Report JAMMU, May 31: On the auspicious occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi, Live For Others - Being Helpful Foundation (NGO) organized a Chabeel (sweet water distribution) at Shiv Mandir, Gahri, Udhampur. Nirjala Ekadashi is an important Hindu festival observed on the 11th day of the waxing moon cycle in the month of Jyeshtha. The initiative was taken by LFO-BHF to support individuals observing fasting on this significant day. Sweet water, bread nutri, and vrat aalo (fasting food) were distributed to devotees visiting Shiv Mandir and local residents. Vivek Parihar, CEO/Founder of LFO-BHF, emphasized the importance of water distribution during hot summer days, ensuring access to clean drinking water for everyone. As water consumption increases during hot weather, the demand for water rises. LFO-BHF's volunteers distributed small packets of bread, nutri, and aalo to over 1000 people. Aalo, a potato-based dish, is commonly consumed during fasting. Mitha Pani, a traditional sweet drink, was also distributed, as it is considered a staple during Ekadashi fasts. "The distribution drive organized by LFO-BHF (NGO) received great appreciation from devotees, who acknowledged the organization's efforts in making their Nirjala Ekadashi fast more comfortable. This drive underscores the importance of community service and emphasizes the value of giving back to society," stated Vishal Singh, COO/Founder of LFO-BHF. |
