ADDC reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, June 2: Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Sham Lal, conducted a weekly meeting with officers and officials of the Jal Shakti Department to assess the implementation of various projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The meeting also focused on reviewing the progress of ongoing initiatives aimed at providing safe drinking water to all villages in the Kishtwar district. The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Sunil Kumar Sharma, IEC District Coordinator Riaz Ahmed Butt, Assistant Executive Engineers, representatives from the Forest Department in Marwah and Kishtwar, Team Leader GVT for ISA activities, and Junior Engineers from the Jal Shakti Department. The ADDC instructed the department to strengthen the groundwork for pending schemes, including obtaining forest clearance as required. The Executive Engineer of the Jal Shakti department in Kishtwar, Sunil Kumar Sharma, provided updates on the ongoing works under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The ADDC urged the swift allocation of tendered water supply schemes and emphasized the need to bridge the gap between the allotted and initiated works. The meeting revealed that out of the 129 tendered schemes, 105 have been allocated and work has commenced on 63 of them. In terms of monthly targets for FHTCs (Functional Household Tap Connections), it was reported that 880 new tap connections were provided this month and subsequently uploaded on the IMIS portal. The District Coordinator for IEC informed the chair about the creation of theme-based wall paintings across the district to promote water conservation. Additionally, it was stated that FTK (Filter, Treat, and Keep) training for five women per allotted village has been completed and submitted to the JJM (Jal Jeevan Mission) directorate. |
