Zonal Level Competitions concluded at GHSS Sohal | | | Early Times Report AKHNOOR, June 2: The Inter Panchayat Zonal Level Competitions, held as part of the "Anti-Drug Drive" program for boys aged 19 to 35, concluded today at GHSS Sohal. The program aimed to educate and inspire youth to reject drugs and embrace a lifestyle that promotes well-being and positivity. The competitions were organized under the guidance of DYSSO Jammu Sukhdev Raj Sharma, with overall supervision by I/C ZPEO Akhnoor Ashok Kumar. The event was graced by the presence of Sarpanch Kaink Jagir Panchayat Kishor Kumar Sharma as the chief guest and Principal GHSS Sohal Dr. Madhu Sharma as the guest of honor. Sarpanch Kaink Jagir highlighted the importance of such programs in raising awareness against the drug menace and safeguarding the present and future generations from its harmful effects. Principal GHSS Sohal, Madhu Sharma, encouraged youth to actively participate in sporting events as a productive alternative to unproductive activities, as they contribute to personality development and enhance decision-making capabilities. ZPEO Akhnoor emphasized the benefits of physical exercise and sports activities in combating drug abuse. He urged the youth to champion the anti-drug campaign and raise awareness about the growing drug problem in their communities, which has detrimental implications for families and the overall well-being of society. The volleyball competition witnessed the participation of 150 players from various Panchayats in Zone Akhnoor. In the final match, Garkhal Panchayat emerged victorious over Ambaran Panchayat. Additionally, participants took Anti-Drug pledges, affirming their commitment to eradicate drug abuse from society and build a healthier nation. |
