RAJOURI, June 8: June 8, 2023: The NCC units (SW/SD) of Govt P G College, Rajouri, organized an awareness campaign on Blood Donation as part of the upcoming World Donor Day, to be celebrated on June 14, 2023. The event, held under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Shamim Ahmed Azad, was guided by Prof. Salma Farooq (NCC Officer Girls Wing) and Major Tanveer Ahmad (NCC Officer Boys Wing). The program was conducted under the directives of CO 5 J&K BN NCC Poonch, Narender Bhandari.
As part of the Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav, the NCC units arranged a lecture on "Role of Blood Donation in Personality Development." Prof. Salma Farooq warmly welcomed Dr. Ashiq Ahmad Raza, the resource person for the event, and briefed the cadets about the significance and benefits of donating blood for both the donor and the recipient. Dr. Ashiq A. Raza elaborated on the advantages of blood donation and emphasized the need for organizing blood donation camps. He shared examples of renowned blood donors who have saved numerous lives, highlighting how becoming a donor can positively impact an individual's attitude and confidence. Lack of awareness was identified as the primary reason for the reluctance to donate blood. Major Tanveer Ahmad emphasized the role of cadets in creating awareness about blood donation among the general public and motivating potential donors.
The cadets participated in a rally, enthusiastically chanting slogans such as "Give Blood, Save Life," "Donate Blood, Donate Smile," "Give Blood, Give Plasma, Share Life, Share Often," and more. The rally garnered substantial participation from students, faculty members, and notable attendees including Dr. Javed Mughal, Dr. Saleem Wani, Dr. Mohd Jameel, Dr. Junaid Ahmad, and others.
Dr. Javed Mughal, Vice Principal, expressed appreciation for the cadets and officers of both NCC units for the successful organization of the event.
