JAMMU, June 12: Former Legislator and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vikram Randhawa emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of sports among youth for a healthy lifestyle. He made these remarks at the award distribution ceremony of the Cricket Tournament organized by the youth of Team Jammu. Sixteen teams from Jammu and the surrounding areas participated in the tournament.
In an exciting final match between Khan Brothers Cricket Club and Extreme Strikers Cricket Club, the former emerged as the winner, securing a 6-wicket victory and lifting the championship trophy. Ram Dayal was awarded the Man of the Match title, along with the Man of the Series award.
Former Legislator Vikram Randhawa highlighted the significant role of sports activities in fostering physical and mental development, expanding horizons, and building self-confidence. He stressed the importance of nurturing young minds and enabling them to unleash their potential to excel in all aspects of life.
Randhawa praised the government's efforts, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to support and develop the talent of youth in rural areas. He also emphasized the need to create quality sports infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir to provide a better platform for athletes to hone their skills.
The Former Legislator urged students to actively participate in co-curricular activities, emphasizing that basic sports infrastructure would be prioritized and made available to them. He further encouraged the youth to stay away from drugs, highlighting the harmful effects and negative consequences associated with substance abuse. |
