Early Times Report JAMMU, June 12: NCC Cadets of Dewan Devi Hr. Sec. School participated in the All India Girls Trekking Expedition 2023 held in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh from 5th June to 12th June. The expedition was hosted by 5 HP(1) COY NCC Dharamshala, and cadets from 7 directorates including Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, UP, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh, joined the event. During the expedition, the cadets had an incredible experience as they explored various landmarks including Sidh Baba Trek, Tashiyoung Monastery, Indo-German Farm, Panchrukhi Railway Station, Subhash Hydro Project, and Indru Nath Temple. Each visit provided them with a unique and enlightening experience, allowing them to immerse themselves in the topography, culture, heritage, language, and weather conditions of Palampur. A Folk Presentation Competition was also organized as part of the expedition, where Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh secured the 2nd position in the Cultural Programme. Cadets from all 7 directorates showcased their respective cultures and heritage, fostering cultural exchange and enabling them to learn from one another. The camp emphasized the values of comradeship, discipline, and teamwork, while also providing the cadets with a comprehensive understanding of wilderness, adventure training, and the significance of unity in diversity. The Principal of the school, Seloni Suri, congratulated the students on their participation and wished them a bright future ahead. |
