Mayor appointed general secretary of All India Mayor’s Council | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 13: A delegation of Chamber of Trader’s Federation (CTF) led by Neeraj Anand, National Vice President CAIT on Tuesday met Jammu city Mayor, Rajinder Sharma in his office chamber. The delegation said that it is a pride moment for the entire of J&K UT that the Mayor has been elected as General Secretary of All India Council of Mayors. Anand said that the Mayor Sharma has unique quality for out of box thinking and he also has the ability to provide practical solutions for the issues. Others in the delegation said that when the Mayor was Councillor he brought and got passed resolutions for River Development Authority, crematorium for animals, tree authority and minimum qualification for a Councilor as graduation. The delegation members further said that the was the Mayor carried anti-polythene campaign reflects leadership of rare qualities. Anand said: “Plastic ban without providing any alternative to consumers was proving to be ineffective but now with the intervention of revolutionary Mayor an alternative has been provided with the launch of eco-friendly bags.” He also said that the outreach programs of Rajender Sharma has taken on board all the stakeholders besides he made students a voice of change sharing with them the why and how of the initiatives. The supported the revamping of administrative processes in JMC and efforts for the empowerment of JMC started by the Mayor. The delegation also said that the change in proceedings of the General House Meeting of JMC and the new political orientation of JMC apart from sitting by the Mayor in his office from 9 am to 11 pm for solving the problems of public has no parallel. The Mayor informed the visiting delegation about the CAPEX expenditure (budget) which was released this year in the month of May itself while otherwise it used to be released in the month of August. “This will not give JMC 10 months more for work,” the Mayor said. Raman Gupta, Acting President, CTF lauded the Mayor and his team for sensitively handling religious issue of ‘Saakh Visarjan’ during Navratras . “It is a reflection of his leadership qualities wherein JMC was able to connect with the people and arranged ‘Eco-Visarjan’ at Ranbir Canal totally preventing plastic from entering water channels,” he maintained. The delegation was also made aware about Smart City progress and on spot instructions were passed by the Mayor to remove the bottlenecks. Others present on the occasion were Praveen Gupta, Devinder Gupta, Shiv Gupta, Tushar Mahajan, Ajay Gupta and Parag Abrol. |
