Shimla, June 13: Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, announced that SJVN has successfully won a 200 MW Grid Connected Wind Power Project. The project was secured by SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN, through an Open Competitive Tariff bidding process followed by an e-Reverse Auction (e-RA) organized by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI). Nand Lal Sharma stated that SGEL participated in SECI's Tariff based competitive Bidding process for selecting Wind Power Developers to set up 1200 MW grid connected Wind Power Projects across India. In this process, SGEL secured 200 MW at a tariff of Rs. 3.24 per unit on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis. Furthermore, Sharma informed that the 200 MW Wind Project will be developed by SGEL through an EPC contract at a tentative cost of Rs. 1400 Crores. This project will enhance SJVN's wind portfolio to 497.6 MW. Currently, two projects with a cumulative capacity of 97.6 MW are operational, and three projects with a cumulative capacity of 400 MW are in various stages of development. According to Nand Lal Sharma, the project is expected to generate 578 million units in its first year of commissioning, with a projected cumulative energy generation of 14,454 million units over a 25-year period. The Project is scheduled to be commissioned within 24 months from the date of signing the Power Sale Agreement (PSA) and is estimated to reduce 708,246 tonnes of carbon emissions. SJVN now boasts a project portfolio of 49,065 MW, with 78 projects in different stages of development. The company is determined to achieve its Shared Vision of reaching a capacity of 5,000 MW by 2023-24, 25,000 MW by 2030, and 50,000 MW by 2040. |
